FNB SECURITIES PLACES STRONG emphasis on the symbiosis between stockbroking and wealth management and investment. Clients have access to relationship managers and the bank can offer advice on asset allocation.

When clients require discretionary investment options they are directed to a suitable model portfolio that is formulated from the bank’s investment process. A bespoke service offering is also available.

The bank’s strong focus on making advice available has paid off — it is the Top Advice Broker of the Year.

The bank has completely renovated its online trading and investment platform. The new website has a cleaner look, with a user-friendly product selector tool that seamlessly guides clients to the appropriate products.

All types of clients are well catered for, but the majority are traditional investors. Clients have access to passive investment options where they can place recurring debit orders in the Ashburton Top 40 and handle ETFs through a tax-free savings account or the Share Saver product. Also, clients can earn eBucks rewards points when trading over a certain amount, which makes it attractive for younger investors.

CFDs are telephonically available for day traders.

Through its high-touch offering and positioning within the FirstRand group, the bank caters well for high net-worth clients who have access to various experts that can assist them with wealth management, fiduciary services and transactional banking.

Overall, the bank has a good high-end service, as well as a solid service for traditional investors.

More than 60% of clients indicate that they will most likely recommend the bank to acquaintances and 41% say its service has improved over the past year.
