WHEN YOU’RE SPON­SOR­ING two fiercely com­pet­i­tive soc­cer teams like Kaizer Chiefs and Or­lando Pi­rates, how do you main­tain a fair bal­ance? Stan­dard Bank has done it by brand­ing taxis with both teams, one on each side. Stan­dard spon­sors the two teams to the tune of R70m. “We had to demon­strate that we don’t favour one team over the other,” says spon­sor­ship man­ager Kate Johns.
