Moral classes

Finweek English Edition - - Letters - LOREN LE ROUX Via email

I SALUTE SIZWEKAZI JEKWA on the wellwritten article, “Statesmen wanted – activists need not apply” in the 25 January 2007 issue. You are absolutely spot on by saying that our leaders should be supported in their efforts for the “greater good” and not simply because they have been political activists in the past. Toni Yengeni’s excuse for not deserving a jail sentence is beyond reason. What’s of more concern is the public who have supported him (and many other leaders) simply because he’s an old comrade. The mentality of supporters who don’t judge wrong versus right could jeopardise South Africa’s future. Perhaps our Minister of Education should consider moral classes for all learners in South Africa.
