Negative drivel

Finweek English Edition - - Letters - MARK WILSON

READING Finweek I can’t help but feel tons of optimism for South Africa. The reports are positive, the criticism is constructive and everyone’s point of view is accommodated. It makes a nice break from the newspapers, which are mainly doom and gloom.

Then I read Derek Sumption’s letter (8 February 2007). The last time I read such negative drivel was in one of our newspapers and from someone I do not doubt “emigrated” (read ran away) to Australia. Sumption, I couldn’t disagree with you more concerning your overdone, hyped-up and alarmist point of view regarding the state of SA. If you hurry now you could get into Oz, join an expat club and moan with fellow moaners all day long.

You and your kind are sad and do my country no favours. I believe in SA Inc. It has its problems but the majority of people here will do the best they can to make SA safe again.
