THE ONE SHOW ABOUT 2 000 creatives from all over the world will gather in New York from 8 to 11 May for the One Show Fes­ti­val, one of ad­ver­tis­ing’s most pres­ti­gious events. Ap­par­ently com­pet­ing with the Cannes fes­ti­val, the four-day event com­prises ex­hi­bi­tions and awards. GOOD­BYE MTN ME­DIA AGENCY OMD has re­signed the MTN cel­lu­lar net­work me­dia buy­ing ac­count, one of the big­gest in the coun­try. No rea­sons have been given. MTN spends about R320m a year on ad­ver­tis­ing, ac­cord­ing to Nielsen fig­ures, and has been with OMD for 10 years. AVOID­ING HAS­SLES A CAM­PAIGN TO RE­LAUNCH Go Bank­ing, Ned­bank’s cost-ef­fec­tive bank­ing op­tion, in as­so­ci­a­tion with Pick ’n Pay, drama­tises ev­ery­day has­sles you wouldn’t nor­mally ac­cept. One de­picts some­one queu­ing to use a toi­let. The pay­off line runs: “Frus­tra­tion. You wouldn’t put up with it any­where else. Don’t put up with it from your bank.”
