NEW STRING BRAND AC­TI­VA­TION spe­cial­ist agency Cineva­tion has added an­other string to its bow with its ap­point­ment to han­dle television, cin­ema and ra­dio ad­ver­tis­ing for the South African mu­si­cal stage pro­duc­tion of The Lion King, which opens in Jo­han­nes­burg in June. The sea­soned ad watcher re­alises that they have picked up so­phis­ti­cated items blown out of the Merc while it’s cruis­ing with its top down. The toupee (above) won gold, while the whole cam­paign won bronze. DUBAI AD­VER­TIS­ING AF­FAIR THE FIRST Dubai Lynx, the ad­ver­tis­ing and com­mu­ni­ca­tion awards for the Mid­dle East and North Africa, has re­ceived nearly 1 700 en­tries from 15 coun­tries. The event is un­der the aus­pices of the Cannes ad­ver­tis­ing fes­ti­val.
