Finweek English Edition - - Intellectual property -

THE RIGHT TO protect your intellectual property (IP), to use it to your financial benefit and even to trade with it is being increasingly recognised throughout the world, Werksmans Attorneys says on its website.

It’s become so important that in 2005 the World Intellectual Property Organisation started celebrating 26 April as worldwide intellectual property day.

Encouraged by the Department of Trade and Industry, SA is happy to join in – not only because it wants to raise awareness concerning IP protection in general but also to encourage companies to protect their creations to their financial advantage.
