MTN MOVES AGAIN
JUST 18 MONTHS AFTER it was fired by OMD (its media agency), cellphone network operator MTN has parted company with its replacement agency, MediaCompete, and moved on to yet another, MindShare. Though the parting is officially “amicable” and by “mutual agreement” MTN expects to “gain added value and benefit” and achieve “optimal levels of service delivery” by moving the account. Many media watchers see it as another indication that MTN is a difficult – demanding? – client. MediaCompete retains the business outside SA.
THE BILLBOARDS APPEAR to be transparent but are cleverly painted to blend with the background and give the impression that Batman is leaping off a building, a meteorite is crashing to earth or a pterodactyl just happens to be passing by. It’s a new outdoor campaign by McCannErickson for Nescafé Classic, each illustrating a Nescafé moment. Look for McCann on the winners’ podium at the next outdoor advertising awards.
