JOE PUB­LIC TOOK pride of place at the Pen­dor­ing awards for Afrikaans ad­ver­tis­ing this year, walk­ing away with three gold Pen­dor­ings, one of which took the Pres­tige Award. The Tweede­handse Raka cam­paign for Kala­ also earned the creative team a R25 000 study tour over­seas.

Baie-Lin­gual Blink Ste­fanus were right be­hind the leaders with two golds, one in col­lab­o­ra­tion with 2Buf­fels Melk­ery. North West Uni­ver­sity was out­stand­ing in the stu­dents’ cat­e­gory, but the top ad was pro­duced by Vega Brand Com­mu­ni­ca­tion School.

The pub­lic voted the Toy­ota Hilux Boer ad as its favourite, and Cinelle Swiegers was awarded the best per­form­ing artist for Spitz Shoe­shanista tele­vi­sion ad. Draft­fcb Cape Town ex­ec­u­tive creative di­rec­tor Fran­cois de Vil­liers re­ceived the Leg­end award for his con­tri­bu­tions to the in­dus­try.
