Biased and myopic

Finweek English Edition - - Front Page - E MOHAMMED

I’M DEEPLY DISTURBED by Stephen Mulholland’s constant attacks on Islam and Muslims. Please check the record of his columns, which are all focusing on the negative and denigrating Islam. For example, his column headlined “The ugly face of Islam” (12 October 2005) was full of bias and certainly a myopic view of Islam.

Is there an ugly face of Christianity, Judaism, etc, that he should also be focusing on to show balance and impartiality? Should we blame Christianity for the evil perpetrated by Nazism, apartheid, KKK? Would that not be the ugly face of Christianity? Should we blame Judaism for the Dier Yasin, Shabra and Shatilla massacres and the daily deaths and destruction of Palestinian life and property?

Muslims the world over are fighting for their freedom from both the occupiers of Muslim lands and the cronies and puppets appointed by them ruling and oppressing their people. Muslims are becoming desperate and desperate people will do desperate things.

Mulholland belongs to a bygone age, when you blamed the victim for the aggression that you perpetrated on him.
