FNB’s idea of ser­vice

I WON­DER IF any­one has no­ticed the lat­est “ser­vice of­fer­ing” by First Na­tional Bank, which is also ap­plied to Dis­cov­ery credit cards. On the day AF­TER your credit card pay­ment is due, the bank sends you an SMS to re­mind you that the pay­ment is due. How an­noy­ing is that?

FNB makes sure it gets max­i­mum in­ter­est and penal­ties and then sends the re­minder – it ar­rives at 8am the fol­low­ing day. Hardly a ser­vice with clients’ needs in mind, but cer­tainly a typ­i­cal, selfish money grab­bing ap­proach by FNB. Thought it may be worth a men­tion.
