WHAT HAPPENED

THE ONGOING CONTROVERSY about the national rugby team’s emblem may finally be resolved after a meeting attended by Sports Minister Makhenkesi Stofile, his deputy and SA Rugby Union boss Oregan Hoskins. The consensus saw Government resolve to keep the Springbok emblem on the team’s jersey – though not without conditions. THE STAR quoted Stofile as saying that as part of the compromise the King Protea would be the main emblem on the left hand side of the jersey, with the Springbok symbol placed on the right. The Citizen reported Hoskins was elated with the outcome of the meeting.
