» BBDO’S REBRANDING
BBDO – hither operating in South Africa under two versions of its global brand name: Net#work BBDO and BBDO Cape Town – will now adopt a single brand: Net#work BBDO. This follows eight months of internal restructuring to align the Cape Town office with the global mantra of uncompromising creative quality. Chief creative officer Mike Schalit believes the time is now right to nationalise BBDO in SA as the value systems and creative culture are in unison. His peers recently ranked Schalit as SA’s leading creative director for an unprecedented 11 consecutive years.
The Cape Town office will be led by MD Eric D’Oliveira and executive creative director Ivan Johnson and supported by industry leaders Mike Schalit and Keith Shipley. Johnson won two of the most prestigious global creative awards for SA last year: a Cannes Gold and a D&Ad Pencil.
“Net#work has been an industry leader for much of its 15 years, with a very strong creative heritage,” he says. “I resisted the rebranding until we had proved we could match the Johannesburg agency’s creative might and the milestone was reached last year.”
