Via email IN NOVEMBER 2008 I upgraded my cellphone to a Nokia 5000, for which I had to pay a R239 joining-up fee. Since my subscription would fall to R99/month I considered it a bargain. I received my phone and, according to the local Nashua office, I was on the new contract from 1 December 2008.
I now discover that Nashua loaded my contract but never activated it. I’m having problems getting its head office to credit me from December 2008. They say it’s MTN’s fault – but it’s Nashua who broke the contract, not MTN. How would MTN know about me if Nashua didn’t inform them?
It looks as if I’ll have to teach them about contract law.
