WHAT HAPPENED

IN YET ANOTHER episode in the interminable soap opera that’s come to define Julius Malema, the ANC Youth League firebrand took a swipe at Education Minister Naledi Pandor. Accusing her of having a fake American accent, Malema said Pandor had failed to resolve serious problems affecting SA’s higher institutions of learning. THE SOWETAN said Malema was a disgrace to SA’s youth. In the week leading to his verbal attack against Pandor the newspaper said Malema had earned the wrath of IFP leader Mangosuthu Buthelezi for likening him to Zimbabwe’s Robert Mugabe. As SA prepares for the elections in April this year The Times said the country should also brace itself for more Malema gaffes.
