THE BRUTAL KILLING of consumer psychologist Klaas Jonkheid deprives the marketing industry of another outstanding professional.

Jonkheid (48) earned a doctorate in commerce at the University of Johannesburg and worked for Cadbury’s and Nestlé before joining ad agency Lindsay Smithers FCB (now Draftfcb).

He was there for eight years, working with Thomas Oosthuizen in strategic planning. Subsequently, they were partners in a strategic consultancy, iD8. At the time of his death, Jonkheid was running his own business, Consulting Psychology Laboratory.

He was a lover of travel, holidaying frequently in the Okavango Swamps, and was a keen Harley-Davidson biker. He leaves a wife, Liesl.
