AN ANIMERT (an­i­mated advert) from South Africa’s ground­break­ing Scru­ti­nize HIV/Aids youth aware­ness cam­paign was sin­gled out for praise at last week’s In­ter­na­tional An­i­ma­tion Fes­ti­val in France and has been nom­i­nated by lo­cal youngsters for a Khuza Award. Scru­ti­nize, com­pris­ing seven tele­vi­sion ad­verts di­rected by Cal Bruns and voiced by co­me­dian Joey Ras­dien, was a fi­nal­ist in the cat­e­gory for ed­u­ca­tion, sci­en­tific or in­dus­trial films at the pres­ti­gious an­i­ma­tion fes­ti­val, held in An­necy.
