MAN­U­FAC­TUR­ERS, RE­TAIL­ERS and quick ser­vice restau­rants have pledged not to mar­ket to chil­dren aged un­der 12 un­less the prod­uct has health ben­e­fits. The prom­ise – spear­headed by the Con­sumer Goods Coun­cil – in­cludes ad­ver­tis­ing in or close to schools. An in­de­pen­dent mon­i­tor will re­view the vol­un­tary process.
