THIS YEAR external hard drives packed full of movies, television shows, pictures, music and other files are common. We all harbour more data than we know what to do with and the modern home is now usually packed with way more than just one computer.

The Iomega iConnect is a device that makes it easy to share a hard drive on a home network so you can access it from anywhere, or any computer, in the house or even over the Internet. The device connects to your home wireless network and has six USB ports you can use to connect drives. It will then make those available on the network. You can also connect up to two printers to the device and it will also share those.

The iConnect also has built-in support for technologies called DLNA and uPNP that essentially allow you to access videos and other media on the drives connected to it with compatible devices, such as the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 gaming consoles. So you can put your videos on a hard drive in the office and watch them on your TV at home.
