HUISGENOOT, the Media24 group’s big-circulation weekly magazine, was named Magazine of the Year at the Advantage Admag Awards last week. Other key winners were: Michelle van Breda, of
Sarie magazine (Editor of the Year), Willem Breytenbach (Publisher of the Year), Sarie Kos (newcomer of the year),
Seventeen (best international title published in SA) and Tony Koenderman (Lifetime Achievement).
In addition, 17 magazines were awarded in categories from business to youth culture.

TBWA HUNT LASCARIS’S “Trillion dollar campaign” for The Zimbabwean newspaper just keeps on rolling along. At last week’s The One Show in New York it picked up four gold awards (two for design, one for outdoor and one for innovation). That helped make Hunt Lascaris the top South African agency at the show this year. However, loyalists are quick to point out the agency would have been top even without its The Zimbabwean campaign – based on a points structure hurriedly cobbled together by SA’s Creative Circle.
