House­hold con­sump­tion ex­pen­di­ture rose by 5,9% in the third quar­ter af­ter a rise of 4,9% in the sec­ond, lifted by a fur­ther in­crease in house­holds’ dis­pos­able in­comes and pos­i­tive wealth ef­fects. A marked in­crease in house­hold spend­ing on ser­vices and an in­crease in spend­ing on non-durable goods were pri­mar­ily re­spon­si­ble for the higher con­sump­tion ex­pen­di­ture. Durable goods spend­ing cooled.
