Leap­ing the dig­i­tal di­vide

DDB SOUTH AFRICA is merg­ing with its dig­i­tal af­fil­i­ate – Tribal DDB – in the hope of “breach­ing the ‘dig­i­tal di­vide’ that’s forced too many clients to sep­a­rate their tra­di­tional com­mu­ni­ca­tions from their new me­dia strate­gies”.

Tribal MD Mike Udell now be­comes deputy MD of DDB SA, and a num­ber of other ap­point­ments have been made to strengthen the cre­ative team, in­clud­ing Matt Ross as chief cre­ative of­fi­cer and Stephan Zimelka as dig­i­tal cre­ative di­rec­tor. “A sin­gle cre­ative team with a sin­gle method­ol­ogy will sculpt ideas about con­sumer be­hav­iour, not dated me­dia tem­plates,” says Ross.
