It’s claimed to be the world’s largest light-emitting diode (LED) display – bigger than the displays on New York’s Times Square or London’s Piccadilly Circus. Crowning the 29-storey Absa Towers building, each of the four screens is almost twice the size of a basketball court (40 metres by 16 metres), and can be seen from 1.5km away on the ground, 2.5km in the air. The technological innovation is an integral part of a 10year inner city rejuvenation project by Absa, showing its commitment to the City of Johannesburg as a leading centre for business on the African continent.
