SA’S top student trader?

Finweek English Edition - - SMART MONEY -

THE ANNUAL Nedbank Capital Traders Trophy competition has returned for a fifth year, inviting the country’s most exceptional university students to compete for the coveted title of “SA’s top student trader”.

The worldwide competition, which includes participants from over 20 countries, takes place in a simulated virtual trading room where students take positions and quote prices to their clients while being assessed on their profitability, risk management and market-making skills.

Registrations for the online qualification round opened 1 April. Those selected will receive instructions and perform a dry run before trading within a 50-minute period. The top performers in the qualification rounds will be invited to compete for the prize as the top trader for their university. The top trader from each university will go on to compete in the national finals held at the Johannesburg Stock Exchange. The winner will subsequently go on to represent the country as a contestant in the Traders Trophy global competition.

Entries for the 2013 South African leg of the competition are now open. To register, visit the Traders Trophy competition page at www.traderstrophy.com.
