VOASA is the in­dus­try body for the va­ca­tion club in­dus­try and says that its abil­ity to self-reg­u­late and con­trol the in­dus­try is so good that the Depart­ment of Trade and In­dus­try “is con­fi­dent of its on­go­ing abil­ity to man­age and de­liver a ma­ture and grow­ing in­dus­try that in­stils con­fi­dence within all stake­hold­ers and is pos­i­tively per­ceived by the con­sumer at large”.

VOASA was pre­vi­ously known as the Time­share In­sti­tute of South­ern Africa (TISA) which was es­tab­lished in 1990 to rep­re­sent the in­ter­ests of the South Afric a n v acat i on own­er­ship i ndustr y. VOASA has 204 mem­bers and rep­re­sents over 190 or­gan­i­sa­tions in eight mem­ber­ship cat­e­gories.
