Ac­cord­ing to the VOASA code of con­duct, mem­bers, sub­sidiaries and em­ploy­ees are not al­lowed to: use any ac­tiv­ity for ad­ver­tis­ing or pro­mo­tion to bring shared va­ca­tion own­er­ship into dis­re­pute or cause the pub­lic to lose con­fi­dence in the shared va­ca­tion own­er­ship in­dus­try; make state­ments, pre­sen­ta­tions, de­scrip­tions, l it­er­a­ture or doc­u­ments used for ad­ver­tis­ing or pro­mo­tion that give false or mis­lead­ing in­for­ma­tion; omit ma­te­rial i nfor­ma­tion t hat could be de­cep­tive or mis­lead­ing to the con­sumer; use ma­te­rial that is in­con­sis­tent and dif­fi­cult to un­der­stand for con­sumers; ex­ag­ger­ate to sell va­ca­tions or time­share; tel l con­sumers t he of­fer is only avail­able for a limited pe­riod of time to pres­sure them into sign­ing up.
