CEO, IT’S TIME TO GO
Michael Jordaan’s resignation as CEO of FNB raises the question of how long a CEO should remain in that position. Jordaan suggested 10 years is enough and many others agree with this time frame. But is it a fair comment? Some companies simply wouldn’t be the same without their CEOs, think Bidvest and Brian Joffe. I would suggest investors must question CEOs who stay on seemingly forever. Can they still see the wood for the trees, is there a risk of losing the plot? Or are they really adding serious value as Joffe does?
