Finweek English Edition - - COVER STORY -

Greenpop is a social enterprise that promotes the environment by making greening and sustainable living cool through inspiring the youth to plant trees. The initiative stages green events and tree planting projects but also uses voluntourism to get youngsters living off-shore to visit Cape Town and green the city. The big idea behind Greenpop is to educate people about green issues and to “activate” the youth to start taking action about environmental issues. The social business is driving to create green rural and urban areas to help combat climate change, while making greening popular and fun so that a “greener, more conscious movement is inspired” by Greenpop.
