• Telkom is preparing to reduce its wholesale connection fees by 8% next month as part of a settlement it reached with the Competition Commission earlier this year. The reduction is one of three with two more set for between now and 2015. This is great news for Internet service providers who will hopefully be passing the savings on to their customers. • Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced a new project called Internet.org to drive Internet adoption in emerging markets. The consortium, which includes Nokia and Samsung, don’t have a plan yet, but that will come later says Zuckerberg. Right now they’re getting buy-in and setting the scene. Apple and Google are conspicuously absent.
