Samsung unveiled its Galaxy Gear smartwatch last week. The device sports a 1.3MP (megapixel) camera built into the strap of the watch, and a tiny touch screen where various apps interface with connected phones over Bluetooth. Oh, and the battery lasts a day.

• The UK’s Virgin Media is to become the f irst pay television operator in the world to incorporate Netflix into its offering. Netflix allows customers to stream movies and video shows over the internet in countries where the service is supported. It’s regarded as a competitor to cable television, making this an interesting move. Virgin Media will build Netflix support into its set top decoder boxes.
