2 DAYS, 100KM

Finweek English Edition - - LIFESTYLE -

one of the best organised of the undiscovered races. Contenders rave about the friendliness of the marshals and other organising members. The race is still small, so you can get away from the crowds while riding through pristine bushveld.

It is a two-day stage race with 55km covered in the first day and 45km covered on the final day. For those experienced cyclists, don’t be fooled by the relatively short distances – the route profile is a strenuous mix of uphills and down- hills, with the track constantly switching between steep, rocky technical downhills; f l owing stretches; farm roads; and, of course, intense climbing sections. For those less experienced, there is no shame in getting off your bike and walking the downhill sections. Rather walk than suffer a concussion and broken bones.

This race takes place over a weekend in July, and also offers a shorter race as an alternative (a 30km or 10km race on the Saturday).
