This race takes place mid-July. It starts from Wharic Park in Gaborone, Botswana, runs through the Mokolodi Game Re­serve, and the Manyana Vil­lage, all the while push­ing rid­ers to their lim­its through thorny, sandy ter­rain that is in­ter­spersed with many flat sec­tions.

The overnight camp in the bush is fully catered for. When you get to your twoman tent your bed is al­ready made for you with pil­lows and fresh sheets, while the bon­fires in the evenings add to the rus­tic at­mos­phere.

Re­mem­ber, as with all cycling races – moun­tain bike and road – no hel­met means no rid­ing.
