• A robot built out of Lego and a smartphone has broken the world record for solving a Rubik’s Cube puzzle. In an achievement that brings together two childhood icons for most readers, a duo of British engineers designed and built the Cubestormer 3 robot that set the new world record at 3.253 seconds. Carrim made these statements in an interview with technology news site TechCentral following a full-page Sunday newspaper advertisements in which MultiChoice accused him of advancing the “narrow commercial interests” of other industry players, in a clear reference to MultiChoice and are at war over whether the set-top boxes that consumers will need to watch digital television when the country switches off analogue broadcasts should contain a control system. ■
