ECONOMIC CHANGE WILL BE DRIVEN BY MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS Mobile media will drive economic change, Orrill believes. There will be growing economic activity in this space as more and more people around the world increase their content consumption using the device in their pockets. This is where these two derived their inspiration from when starting out, and it’s what motivates them to pioneer into new markets. The next such market is West Africa, but supported from SA. “The continent has seen a marked increase in the number of smartphone users and the predication is that by 2018 25% of mobile phones will be smartphones, but those driving the economies of Africa are still using basic feature phones,” states Orrill, “Our focus is on the 75% using non-smartphones.”
