Ap­ple be­came the first com­pany to have a mar­ket value in ex­cess of $700bn (R8.1tr), when its shares rose to $122.02 (R1 414) on 10 Fe­bru­ary. Ap­ple’s mar­ket value now ex­ceeds the GDP of Switzer­land. The tech­nol­ogy com­pany is worth twice as much as fel­low tech gi­ant Google, and eight times the mar­ket value of McDon­ald’s, re­ported.
