The dif­fer­ence in price be­tween clothes in Sin­ga­pore and New York, ac­cord­ing to the Econ­o­mist In­tel­li­gence Unit (EIU). Sin­ga­pore re­tained its po­si­tion as the world’s most ex­pen­sive city, ac­cord­ing to the EIU, which tracks living ex­penses in 133 cities world­wide and uses New York as a ba­sis. Gro­ceries were 1% more ex­pen­sive in Sin­ga­pore than New York, it found. The rest of the top five most ex­pen­sive cities con­sist of Paris, Oslo, Zurich and Syd­ney. The world’s cheap­est cities are Karachi, Ban­ga­lore, Cara­cas, Mumbai and Chen­nai, it said.
