The Lost City and Sun City re­ceived the high­est num­ber of mul­ti­mil­lion­aire vis­i­tors on the con­ti­nent in 2014, ac­cord­ing to re­search by New World Wealth. Africa re­ceived just over 30 000 mul­ti­mil­lion­aire vis­i­tors − de­fined as in­di­vid­u­als with net as­sets of at least $10m (R117.4m) − in the 12 months to June 2014, it said.

Ma­jor des­ti­na­tions for them within South Africa i nclude Cape Town, Jo­han­nes­burg, Umh­langa, Fran­schhoek, Stell en­bosch, t he Kruger Na­tional Park and the Gar­den Route. Popular des­ti­na­tions out­side SA are Mar­rakech and Casablanca in Morocco, Cairo and Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, Nairobi and the Ma­sai Mara in Kenya, Liv­ing­stone in Zam­bia and the Oka­vango Delta i n Botswana. Go­rilla sa­faris in the Virunga Moun­tains in Uganda are also popular, New World Wealth said.
