Beatrice Yar­dolo, the last pa­tient be­ing treated for Ebola in Liberia, was dis­charged on 5 March. Yar­dolo (58), an English teacher, lost two sons and a daugh­ter to the dis­ease. Liberia will be con­sid­ered Ebola-free on 4 April if no new cases are re­ported. More than 100 peo­ple are still be­ing mon­i­tored for pos­si­ble ex­po­sure to the virus. New cases con­tinue to be re­ported in Sierra Leone and Guinea in the worst out­break of the dis­ease on record, which has led to more than 9 800 deaths so far.
