The value of the con­tract to re­ha­bil­i­tate the na­tional road be­tween Senekal and Vaalpen­spruit in the Free State, which got Group Five in hot wa­ter with the Com­pe­ti­tion Com­mis­sion for “col­lu­sive ten­der­ing”. The case was re­ferred to the Com­pe­ti­tion Tri­bunal on 17 March, with the Com­mis­sion rec­om­mend­ing a fine of 10% of Group Five’s turnover of R15bn. It said that Group Five col­luded with WBHO and Concor, a sub­sidiary of Mur­ray & Roberts, on the ten­der.
