Tourists visit the ar­chae­o­log­i­cal site on Acrop­o­lis Hill in Athens, Greece, on 3 May. A fresh round of talks be­tween Greece ne­go­tia­tors and rep­re­sen­ta­tives of its ma­jor cred­i­tors − the Euro­pean Com­mis­sion, the Euro­pean Cen­tral Bank and the In­ter­na­tional Mon­e­tary Fund − started on 30 April, with the aim of agree­ing to a new bailout deal when eu­ro­zone fi­nance min­is­ters meet on 11 May. Por­tu­gal’s fi­nance min­is­ter Maria Luís Al­bu­querque told Reuters that the pos­si­bil­ity of Greece ex­it­ing the euro, a move some have warned could lead to a global fi­nan­cial melt­down, was not on the agenda.
