The weight in tons of nearly a mil­lion pad­locks that are be­ing re­moved from the Pont des Arts, one of the main bridges in Paris of which a part col­lapsed last year, as they pose a safety risk. At­tach­ing a ‘love lock’ to the bridge be­fore throw­ing the key into the River Seine be­neath, has be­come a tourist tra­di­tion in re­cent years, the BBC re­ported. Locks will also be re­moved from other bridges in the city, of­fi­cials said.
