OIL PRICE MAKES ME THINK TWICE ABOUT SASOL

Finweek English Edition - - SIMON SAYS -

The Sasol* update was pretty much as expected, although there are a lot of moving parts. The important number is the average Brent oil price of $73.46/barrel for the year ending June. Now Sasol is not only an oil company, as it also has a chemical business, but we can expect another tough year to end June 2016 as Brent is not likely to be higher than the 2015 average. I remain a holder of Sasol but, as I wrote back in March, I am reconsidering the position. I know, I’m a slow thinker, but after holding the shares for over 20 years, I am comfortable mulling it over carefully and avoiding a hasty decision I may regret in time.
