The global econ­omy is ex­pected to grow by only 2.9% this year, well be­low the long-run aver­age, ac­cord­ing to the lat­est re­search by the Or­gan­i­sa­tion for Eco­nomic Co­op­er­a­tion and Devel­op­ment. Growth is ex­pected to strengthen grad­u­ally to 3.3% in 2016 and 3.6% in 2017. “But a clear pick-up in ac­tiv­ity re­quires a smooth re­bal­anc­ing of ac­tiv­ity in China and more robust in­vest­ment in ad­vanced economies,” it said.
