Entrepreneur and owner of Silulo Ulutho Technologies in Khayelitsha in Cape Town, Luvuyo Rani, has been chosen as one of 12 Social Entrepreneurs of 2016 by the Schwab Foundation for Social Entrepreneurship. The foundation annually selects entrepreneurs who “drive social innovation and transformation”. “This
award…allows me to attend all the World Economic Forum events of 2016 around the world and attend training programmes at Harvard in 2017,” said Rani. His company operates IT stores and training centres in townships and
rural areas across South Africa. He believes the award will also open the door for them to start operating in other
countries in the SADC region.
