AGM a letdown

Finweek English Edition - - MARKETPLACE -

Last week I wrote about the Berkshire Hathaway AGM being broadcast online and I finally managed to watch all of the more than five hours of video. To sum up my feelings – I’m disappointed. As somebody who has never attended the AGM, I always got the impression that it was chock-full of great insights, new ideas and witty comments. But in truth I saw very little of that. Maybe Buffett and Munger are getting old – maybe they’ve said everything they want to say – or maybe the event was always just overhyped. Whatever the case, it certainly suggests that the long and expensive trek to Omaha for the AGM is not worth the price tag.

Projections of Warren Buffett, CEO and chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, and vice-chairman Charles Munger at the Berkshire Hathaway AGM in Omaha, Nebraska, USA.
