8Char­ity Ox­fam found in a new re­port that eight of the world’s rich­est peo­ple have as much com­bined wealth as half the hu­man race, ny­times.com re­ported. The re­search is based in part on data from Forbes mag­a­zine’s an­nual list of bil­lion­aires and the es­ti­mates of their wealth, as well as re­search by Credit Suisse. Ac­cord­ing to the re­port, the eight rich­est peo­ple are Mi­crosoft founder Bill Gates; the founder of In­tidex, owner of Zara, Aman­cio Ortega Gaona; in­vestor and phi­lan­thropist War­ren Buf­fett; Mex­i­can tele­coms mag­nate Car­los Slim; Ama­zon founder Jeff Be­zos; Face­book founder Mark Zucker­berg; Or­a­cle founder Lawrence J. El­li­son; and me­dia and fi­nan­cial data mag­nate Michael Bloomberg.
