Berk­shire Hath­away, the com­pany founded by War­ren Buf­fett, has in­creased its stake in Ap­ple, in­vest­ing $8bn in Jan­uary. This brings its stake to 133m shares, mak­ing Berk­shire one of Ap­ple’s top five share­hold­ers, with a stake worth $18.2bn, ft.com re­ported. How­ever, Buf­fett said Ap­ple’s share price is now so high that it is no longer an at­trac­tive in­vest­ment – adding that “we can change our mind tomorrow”, ft.com said. Ap­ple’s share price has in­creased by more than 12% since 31 Jan­uary, when the group re­ported fourthquar­ter earn­ings show­ing a jump in iPhone sales. The stock is up 41.3% over the past 12 months, ac­cord­ing to ft.com.
