It’s okay to make mistakes; take risks as long as they are mostly calculated risks.
Understand that in today’s business environment there are very few “one-man-bands”. Know your strengths and weaknesses; understand that you can’t do everything yourself if you want everything done right all of the time. It’s all about having a good team. High staff morale is important and staff must understand that change is good.
Don’t be afraid to ask for advice; just make sure you don’t stall on making a decision. If it’s wrong, it’s growth. If it’s right, great!
Don’t panic and become despondent if things aren’t working out, but be proactive when it comes to solving the issues.
