Ev­ery Volvo pro­duced from 2019 on­wards will have an elec­tric mo­tor, the car­maker an­nounced on 5 July, mak­ing it the first tra­di­tional car­maker to call time on ve­hi­cles pow­ered solely by an in­ter­nal com­bus­tion engine, re­ported. From 2019, Volvo, which was pur­chased by China’s Geely in 2010, will make three types of cars: pure elec­tric, plug-in hy­brids, and so-called “mild” hy­brids that com­bine a small petrol engine with a large bat­tery, the au­tomaker said.
