Im­prove­ment, but still a loss

The El­lies re­sults showed an im­prov­ing loss, but nev­er­the­less a head­line earn­ings per share (HEPS) loss of 7.45c. Of con­cern is that the con­sumer busi­ness, which will be all that is left when Me­ga­tron is fi­nally wound up, still suf­fered a loss of 2.09c a share, down from a profit of 32c in the pre­vi­ous year. Man­age­ment def­i­nitely still has a long way to go to get the com­pany soundly prof­itable again.
